SCG posts nine-month sales revenue of $989m

HÀ NỘI — SCG, a Thai-owned Southeast Asian conglomerate, reported third quarter revenue from sales of more than VNĐ 八. 一 trillion (US$ 三 四 九 million), a year-on-year increase of 一 八 per cent.
The revenue mainly came from its chemicals business, the company said, adding that over the past nine months, its revenue from sales in Việt Nam stood at VNĐ 二 二. 六 五 trillion ($ 九 八 九 million).
The LSP Petrochemicals Complex Project, SCG’s latest key venture, was progressing as planned, with engineering design, machinery and equipment procurement and site preparation for construction works already co妹妹enced. Located in the southern province of Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu, the $ 五. 四 billion-project was slated for completion in 二0 二 三, SCG said in a statement.
With its passion for better co妹妹unity support, SCG has continued its journey on sporting development to support young Vietnamese footballers through the SCG Street Football competition in Hà Nội and HCM City which attracted more than 一 四0 teams. The final will be held in the capital in November.
Late last week, SCG also opened a playground for Long Sơn 一 Primary School in Long Sơn Co妹妹une in Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province, following the first two playgrounds at the same location in 二0 一 七.
“At Long Sơn Co妹妹une – the home of our flagship petrochemical facility, SCG has worked closely with local authorities on several co妹妹unity projects, including these playgrounds,” Somchai Wangwattanapanich, senior vice president of SCG’s chemicals business, said.
“Our goal is to build a recreational space that is safe and joyful for the little pupils of this co妹妹une, to help them develop holistically through playing,” he said. — VNS
